The nice folks at Choice Organic Teas (the first Certified Organic and Fair Trade tea company in the US) reached out and offered to send me some of their tea to try. I’m not a fan of green tea so I made sure to note my preferences for peppermint, berry, ginger teas.
I was so pleasantly surprised when I received a box of 5 full-size boxes of product to try.
I quickly opened each box to try them all–they are delicious! I am a coffee drinker every morning–I like to have a hot cup first thing in the AM but then I switch to water and tea for the rest of the day. I’d recently switched to loose leaf tea, thinking it’s a stronger and fresher flavor, so I was excited when I tried the Choice Tea packets because they actually brew a better (and more flavorful) cup of tea than the loose leaf I have on-hand.
I tried these flavors:
Peppermint – Fresh and minty! The only ingredient is or organic peppermint leaf and it’s a caffeine free tea.
Lemon Lavender Mint – I was very intrigued by this herbal flavor. I made the mistake of brewing a cup and taking it to-go one night last week when I was going to be driving for about an hour. This tea is meant to be relaxing…it did the trick. I was very sleepy after this nice, warm flavor. (caffeine free)
Northwest Blackberry – This is fruity and delicious. It reminds me of some “Black Forest” berry teas I’ve had in Europe. (caffeine free)
Wild Forest Black – This is a strong tea. It was a little too strong for me but if you are mainly a tea drinker and drink it for a bit of caffeine, this would be a good tea for you. I took this box into work to put in the kitchenette and I’ve seen the supply go down quickly so it looks like others enjoy it!
Ginger – I wasn’t quite sure I’d like this because organic licorice is one of the ingredients and I’m just not a licorice fan. However, this is very soothing and refreshing. It’s a bit strong but in a good way– I was able to brew about 4 cups of tea from the one tea bag.
You can buy the teas online or use the store locator to find them in a store near you.

Just another day as a Duchess – Tea Time! (Source)
Do you have a favorite tea flavor to recommend? Have you ever gone to afternoon tea?
*Thank you to everyone who entered the Road ID giveaway–on Saturday AM I Tweeted the winner–Congratulations to Natalie.
I drink coffee first thing each morning, too, and I’ll sometimes have a cup of tea after dinner. (Or during the afternoon if it’s a cold, dreary day.) Cinnamon and peppermint are my favorites, and lemon lavender mint sounds good as well.
mmmm…I love cinnamon anything. Do you have a cinnamon tea you can recommend?
I drink Bigelow’s Cinnamon Stick. It’s perfect for after dinner, and I also used to bring a travel mug of it to one of my late afternoon classes in college. No caffeine, but sipping a hot beverage would help keep me focused. 😉
Fun! I don’t actually drink tea or coffee. I know. Crazy. But I have had some chamomile tea that I like. 🙂 And it’s always better with honey.
I like that coffee boost in the AM!
I’m obsessed with tea! Any ginger flavored tea is my fave!
It’s really delicious!
Yum, thanks for the review! I’m trying to get more into tea for its health properties! Love that pic of the Duchess at the bottom 🙂
🙂 Had to work Kate into the tea talk!
I am the same, coffee in the morning and tea and water the rest of the day. The lemon lavender sounds VERY interesting!
It’s delicious. Very soothing. It’s the one flavor I wasn’t certain I’d like but it’s a new favorite!
good to know, I might have to give it a whirl.
I love tea…but I don’t like going to high-tea at hotels and such….the little cakes and stuff they serve just isn’t my thing. But tea on the other hand is the best anytime!
Trader Joe’s candy cane tea is my recent favorite. Some mint teas leave me feeling like I just brushed my teeth, but TJ’s is the perfect amount of mint.
I’m a coffee addict and grew up in a coffee culture, but I’m now living in a tea AND coffee culture in the Netherlands, and sometimes it’s difficult to choose how I wish to start my day. I’ve been to afternoon tea with friends and hosted my own gatherings. High Tea, British style, is catching on in cafes and restaurants and that’s something I’d really like to try. It would be nice if they offer the Choice Organics, I’d like to try them, too. The ginger sounds delightful (I love licorice and ginger!).
Thanks for the info on these, I’ll be sure to visit the website for shipping options 🙂
I love the strong coffee in Holland and it’s where I first had Twinnings tea which I always thought was delicious! When I’d travel there I’d also indulge in delicious breads filled with raisins and nuts.
MMmmmm ginger tea, my fav. Though lately, I’ve been craving some peppermint EVERYTHING. But ’tis the season, eh?
