A few things to share today…
I found a vendor to help me stay on the reindeer diet. Look at the size of those carrots!
We haven’t seen snow yet this season in Wisconsin but I’m hopeful we get enough so I can use my snowshoes this year.
Here’s a picture of snow taken in the late 1800s into early 1900.
I finished the Hunger Games trilogy this week. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to read the books and am already looking forward to the next movies. (If you’re keeping track, Mockingjay was book #40 toward my goal of reading 50 Books in 2012.) I was surprised by a few things towards the end of Mockingjay and stick to my general review of these books – they are stressful and intense, but Collins did an amazing job of creating a storyline that a lot of people can quickly become invested in.
If you’re a Starbucks fan, did you know about their 12 Days of Gifting? Starbucks has a special offer each day for 12 days – today’s deal is a coffee sale – KCups, whole bean, ground, Via. I make my coffee at home everyday (but lean heavily on Starbucks when I travel!) and really enjoy the Christmas Blend. So I’ll be loading up on the special $9.95 1 lb. bags today (regularly $14.95).
Have a great day!
Any holiday deals to share? What are you reading? Has snow started to fall where you live?
Love, love, love The Hunger Games. I usually reread them whenever I’m home. To this day, I still feel conflicted about the ending, but I understand why Collins did it. NYC has winter weather again, but no sign of snow yet!
Ha! Fancy seein’ you here on a Hunger Games post 😉
You are so close to 50!! I loved the Hunger Games trilogy, so good choice 🙂
haha that reindeer diet reference still cracks me up!
Hey Nicole! Love THG! Currently, I’m reading Where’d You Go, Bernadette? Are you on Goodreads, by the way? I’m always looking for more people to follow because I love to see what other people are reading. haha… I just realized how incredibly stalker-ish of me that sounds, but if you’re interested, find me on there! (Haley Chance)
Happy to connect on Goodreads!
We had a few snow flurries here in Michigan, but nothing stuck yet. My parents live in upper MI and they have 4 inches!
What did you think of the trilogy? The first was my favorite and the third my least favorite. I felt like Katniss kept ruining everyone’s lives? Although, my DH says that I can be overly critical of the protagonist…
I felt the same way about the trilogy. SO INTENSE. But I loved it and agree, can’t wait for the rest of the movies.
I’m doing a series of giveaways’ on my blog this next week (starting today) and I would be honored for you to check them out! 😉
Thanks for letting me know! Just checked them out. Have a great weekend.
I was surprised by a lot in Mockingjay – but think she did an amazing job and the very ending was so good… looking forward to the next two films as the first was the best film version of a book I’ve ever seen, I was very impressed!
I like the reindeer diet post and although I wouldn’t wish snow on anyone, as you’d like some, I hope you get it for Christmas 🙂
Those carrots look perfect for roasting. Yum! Bon appétit!
I miss being in close proximity to Starbucks. The nearest is about an hour away by train, across the border in Germany. LOVE their holiday spices blended drinks. So festive!
I haven’t read any of the Hunger Games, but I’m curious to see what the series is about. Something for my ‘to do in the new year’ list.
