Lindsay over at The Lean Green Bean organizes Foodie Penpals every month. Participants are assigned a pen pal and send a fun, food package by the 15th of the month, with contents that add up to no more than $15. There’s a link to details at the end of the post…if you’re interested, get in touch with Lindsay by April 4th.
This was my third month participating…I loved it! You can see my January write-up here and February here.
I was paired up with Erin, a reader from Texas – I sent her a box of goodies for travel – a bit of a Spring Break theme.
On to the exciting package that showed up at my doorstep! Tamiera from The Life for Less sent me a box that will put me to work! It’s a box full of items needed for making sushi! I’ve never tried making sushi before so this will be a fun project with a tasty ending. Tamiera included a recipe for the rice and also the standard ingredients and tools to get started. I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work!
So…a big thank you to Tamiera for a thoughtful package and a big thank you to Lindsay for organizing Foodie Penpals! It was really fun to participate…I got to “know” (virtually) new bloggers and try new treats–a Win, Win! I’m excited to participate again in April.
If you’re interested in becoming a Foodie Pen Pal, check out the site and sign up by April 4th…pairings are sent out on April 5th!
Did you think I’d leave you without a Friday Funny? In honor of the sushi theme, here’s a fish/healthy-living joke:
Why did the shellfish go to the gym?
To get stronger mussels.
Insert groan. Happy Weekend!
I love that this box was themed with a purpose in mind! I’ll have to keep that in mind when I put together my box for next month!
I’ve been trying to do themed boxes…I did a heart-healthy box for Feb (Heart Month) and Spring break for March!
Isn’t it fun getting new and different food things? Especially in the mail! 🙂
Yes! So fun to get items I wouldn’t otherwise seek out and it’s always nice to get mail that isn’t a bill!
such a creative package! good luck making the sushi!
This will be a fun rainy-day activity!
Hey! Thanks to your post last month, I joined Foodie Penpals, & I LOVED IT!!! NO LONGER A FOODIE PENPALS VIRGIN!!! So, thanks & blessings! XOXO
That’s great! Glad you love it!
