I am the very proud Aunt of one niece and two nephews. My niece is a creative young lady, super smart, and one tough cookie on the basketball court. (And she was the first one to join the 50 Books in 2012 goal with me.)
She called me the other night to tell me she came up with a recipe–she made the dish, wrote down the recipe, and proceeded to dictate it to me. And she made sure to include apples in honor of Apples and Arteries. One word: Adorable.
Ingredients
*1 sliced up Gala apple
*1 sliced up Granny Smith apple
*1 sliced up banana
*1 sliced up orange
*3 tsp. lemon juice
* 1 small can of pineapple chunks – optional
Process
1. Slice the fruit and put in a bowl.
2. Add the lemon juice and stir the fruit.
3. Serve and enjoy.
A healthy treat that kids can make on their own – if they’re old enough to use a knife.
In honor of Julia, I made her recipe this morning (substituting a grapefruit for the orange).
